    • According to testimony in his mother's civil war pension file for his brother William, Thomas had some bad debt and was accused of forgery. He was forced to leave the county and state around 1870 or 1865. His business partner was Thomas West. [1]
    • Lived in Norfolk, VA 1868 to 1869 [2]

    • Civil War pension file describes him as 5' 4", light complexion, blue eyes and brown hair. He was said to be born at East Creek, NY [2]
